Collectively, we will need to carefully weigh our decisions to ensure that we cause the least harm to Californians and protect core investments that serve our constituents.

The passage of SB 54 was a remarkable achievement for California that cemented our state’s leadership role in reducing plastic pollution and ensuring producers of consumer products take responsibility for the end-of-life management of their food service ware and packaging. We acknowledge that while passing the measure was a major milestone, much work lay ahead as California began implementing the law. We support the Department’s proposed regulations and urge their timely adoption.

We, the undersigned members of the San Diego legislative delegation, write to address the recent contract termination between Scripps Health and Anthem Blue Cross in the San Diego region. This contract expiration has severely impacted our constituents. We seek your immediate attention and action.

We, the undersigned legislators, are devastated to see the Oceanside Pier severely damaged by fire on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Since the late 19th century, the Oceanside Pier has served as a landmark of our coastal identity and maritime heritage in Southern California.

The Senate formed the Transportation Subcommittee on LOSSAN Rail Corridor Resiliency with recognition that the 351-route mile LOSSAN (Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo) coastal railroad corridor is in urgent need of both attention and action.
